Welcome to RentEase Africa ("we," "our," "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our website, mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the "Platform"). By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our Platform.

2. Definitions

• "User" – any individual or entity that accesses or uses the Platform.
• "Landlord" – a property owner who uses the Platform to manage properties and tenants.
• "Property Manager" – a professional or agency that manages properties on behalf of landlords.
• "Tenant" – an individual who rents a property listed on the Platform.
• "Admin" – a system administrator with elevated permissions.

3. User Accounts

To access certain features, you must register for an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
• Maintain the security of your password and accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account.
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or applicable laws.

4. Property Listings & Information

Landlords and Property Managers are solely responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and legality of property listings. You agree not to post fraudulent, misleading, or offensive content. We may remove any listing that we deem inappropriate.

5. Rent Payments & Transactions

RentEase Africa facilitates online rent collection but does not act as a financial institution. All payments are processed through third‑party payment gateways. You agree to comply with the terms of those payment providers. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from payment transactions, except as required by law.

6. Intellectual Property

All content, trademarks, logos, and software on the Platform are the property of RentEase Africa or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works without our prior written consent.

7. User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Platform's security or functionality.
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation.
• Harass, abuse, or defraud other users.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms or if we believe it is necessary to protect our Platform or other users. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the Platform.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error‑free, or secure. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, RentEase Africa shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Platform.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless RentEase Africa and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Platform or violation of these Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Nigeria, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated Terms on the Platform and updating the "Last Updated" date. Continued use after changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
